Chapter: Bootstrap and frontend CSS frameworks
Lecture: What we'll cover
0:00 So far we've kind of ignored design for the most part
0:03 and we're not going to go deeply into design in this course.
0:07 It's not a course about CSS and HTML and web design
0:11 but we should cover enough
0:14 that you understand the design tools that are in place
0:17 as well as be able to bring in extra things
0:20 like themes and stuff that are really easy wins
0:23 for making your site look better in a hurry.
0:26 So let's briefly talk about what we'll learn
0:28 in this chapter. We're going to do a quick survey
0:31 of what are called frontend frameworks
0:32 or frontend CSS frameworks.
0:34 These include things like Bootstrap and Foundation
0:37 but there's actually many of them.
0:38 Because we're going to use Bootstrap
0:41 it really is the most popular one
0:42 we'll go ahead and use that.
0:44 So we'll do a quick introduction to what Bootstrap is.
0:46 A few of the features
0:47 are super important to know and really helpful
0:49 so we'll talk about grid layout
0:51 and a few of the controls like buttons and widgets.
